I picked this book up on a whim during a Kindle Unlimited trial and I’m so glad I did! This book was such a delight to read.

This book follows Dex, a Monk of sorts who decides one day that their calling is to travel to different towns and serve tea and comfort to those who need it. Many years previous, the robots of Dex’s world unexpectedly decide to up and leave for the wilderness never to be seen again. That is, until Dec stumbles across one in the wild.

There’s simultaneously so much and so little I want to say about this book — and I mean that in the best way possible because I want you to experience it for yourself. If a cup of warm tea, lovingly made, could be embodied in a book, this would certainly be it.

I loved both Dex and the robot. I loved their conversations and their journey together. I loved the lore of the world and the lush world building. I loved the beautiful atmosphere and the emotions it evoked. I loved the tea. It’s a short book at only 151 pages, so it’s a very quick but heartwarming read.

If you’re looking for a sweet, poignant breath of fresh air, please pick this one up!
